I am a writer, editor and freelance journalist based in Calgary, Alberta. My stories have appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, the National Post, Canadian Business, CBC and many other publications.

These days, I mainly write stories about urban affairs, business and the outdoors, but I have covered a variety of other topics throughout my career. I also write a monthly column for The Sprawl, an independent local news site in Calgary, and I am an adjunct journalism instructor at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

I have more than 10 years of journalism experience, including roles as web writer at CBC Calgary, reporter at the Edmonton Journal and assistant editor at Venture Publishing. Additionally, I have worked in communications as writer and editor on the marketing team at Calgary Public Library.
